Family and Medical Leave (FMLA)

Family and Medical Leave or FMLA, in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Administrative Policy: Family and Medical - FMLA Leave, allows employees to balance their work and family life by taking unpaid leave for their own serious health condition or the care of certain family members' serious health condition; for the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child; and a family member's active duty service in the Armed Forces. Eligible University employees may have up to 12, or in some military caregiver cases, up to 26 weeks of FMLA leave available, as outlined in the policy and respective employee group governing documents.
