About the University of Minnesota Women’s Consortium

The University of Minnesota Women’s Consortium is composed of representatives from various campus programs and initiatives that focus on women.

The University of Minnesota Women’s Consortium supports information sharing, collaboration, networking, and alliance-building among consortium members and serves as a resource for anyone interested in scholarship and programming focused on women, gender, and sexuality. Through the Consortium, the Office for University Women seeks to foster a sense of community and interconnection across programs, and to increase awareness of and participation in initiatives and issues of concern to women at the University of Minnesota.

To achieve these goals, the Office for University Women:

  • Hosts Women’s Consortium meetings at least once each semester.
  • Manages a Consortium Listserv to enhance communication, coordination, and information sharing among members.
  • Maintains a weekly electronic newsletter and distributes information about Consortium member sponsored events and issues of interest to University women.
  • Includes a listing of all Consortium programs, centers, and offices in its OUW brochure. This brochure is distributed in many venues, including staff and faculty orientation packets.
  • For more information on the University Women’s Consortium, or to become a member, contact the Office for University Women at women@umn.edu or 612.625.9837.
