The Civil Service and Bargaining Unit (CS/BU) Staff Award

Purpose

The Civil Service/Bargaining Unit (CSBU) Staff Award annually recognizes members of the Twin Cities campus CSBU staff who have made outstanding contributions to improve the work environment for CSBU employees beyond their job description.

Sponsors

This award is made possible by the Women’s Center CSBU Initiative and the Office of Human Resources.

Recognition

Awardees will receive an honorarium of $1,000. Award to be given at the annual spring “Celebrating University Women Awards Program” sponsored by the Women's Center.

4:30 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2010

Eligibility

Twin Cities CSBU employees holding at east 75% time appointments are eligible.

Selection Criteria

Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of the narrative and letters of support documenting outstanding achievements and contributions to improving the work environment for CSBU employees. Achievements must reach beyond the scope of the nominee’s job description. Contributions with wider impact and sustainability will be given greater consideration. The narrative should provide specific examples of excellence worthy of this recognition.

Selection Committee

Appointed by Women's Center, to include three or more Civil Service/Bargaining Unit women including past award winners.

Nomination Process

University of Minnesota-Twin Cities faculty, staff, students or organizations may make nominations and self-nominations are also welcome. Nominations must include the following items:

  • One letter of nomination (a narrative describing how the nominee meets the criteria)
  • Two letters of support
  • Nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae
