Set up Your Computer for WPA2 (iPhone)

Very little setup is required with the Apple 3G iPhone. It's merely a matter of turning on your phone's wireless and selecting your preferred network.

Your iPhone will automatically find all wireless networks in range. Once you've joined a network, your iPhone will connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range your iPhone will connect to the last one used.

It is strongly recommended that you use "UofM Secure" to connect to the Internet with your iPhone. In addition to being more secure and having more bandwidth, "UofM Secure" allows you to run iPhone apps that need Internet connectivity (E.g., App Store, Google Earth, Facebook).

With the "UofM" network, you need to validate your identity by entering your Internet ID (X500) and password when you launch a Web browser. Many iPhone apps need to connect to the Internet to run and do not have the capability to prompt you to validate your identity.

  1. From the main screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
