Securing Your data

Since information going through the air over wireless connections can be intercepted and read by others, wireless networking on the "UofM" network should be limited to casual Web browsing.  Policy requires that anyone transmitting or handling University private or sensitive data over wireless networks must use one of the following:

• Use WPA2 encryption by logging on to  the "UofMN Secure" wireless network.
• Use Virtual Private Network (VPN) pass through while on the "UofMN" wireless network.
