Scan Do Pro How-To Guidelines

Hooking Up to PC/MAC:

Attach the monitor cable to your computer’s VGA port, or DVI port on 15" & 17" PowerBook computers (see adapter section below).

Scan Do Power:

Turn on the Scan Do Pro by pressing the power button if it is not already on. If the system is functioning normally both the "INPUT" and "POWER" lights will be on. If the "INPUT" light is blinking the resolution is too high on the computer.

Setting up Laptop (PC):

Set your display adapter to either 800x600 or 1024x768.

  1. Right click on Desktop.
  2. Select "Properties."
  3. Click on "Settings" tab.
  4. Move slider to "800x600" or "1024x768."

Enabling VGA Out (PC):

To enable VGA out most laptops will have a keystroke such as "Fn + F8" to enable the second display. Consult with your manufacture for correct sequence. Look for a key that says "CRT/LCD."

Setting up Laptop (Mac):

Set your desktop resolution to either 800x600 or 1024x768 and enable "Mirror" mode.

  1. Click on the Apple menu.
  2. Select "System Preferences."
  3. Click on "Display."

Enabling VGA Out (Mac):

To enable VGA out on Apple laptops you need to have an adapter that provides the VGA port. There are currently three adapters: iBook, 12" PowerBook, 15 & 17" PowerBook.

15" & 17" Connector plugs into the DVI port of the laptop.
