Video Conferencing and Video Streaming Scheduling Procedures
Credit Instruction
If you would like to schedule a credit course using the University of Minnesota's video network for interactivity with remote sites or video streaming, contact your unit/departmental distance education coordinator.
The video conference request form initiates the scheduling process for credit courses. Prior to forwarding the request to the VNS Manager, please be sure that the following actions have occurred:
- Discussions have been conducted with department distance education coordinator (and/or appropriate curriculum committee) about the proposed ITV course.
- Collaborative discussions have taken place with program staff at each remote site about proposed course. These discussions should include guidelines for distance delivery, enrollments, registration, publicity, support staff at all sites, distribution and exchange of course materials, support services and funding issues.
- Complete all sections of the request form (including program contact staff at all sites and any special arrangements needed for the course) or submit your request via the online form.
Non-Credit Event Scheduling
(Meetings, Conferences, Workshops, Training Sessions)
VNS program priority guidelines will be followed in decisions about booking events other than credit courses. The requester is responsible for notification of participants and event publicity. Although VNS will try to accommodate last minute and emergency requests, we would appreciate a one week notice to set up and confirm distant site locations and to make sure the necessary personnel is scheduled at each site.
