1). November & December revised meeting schedule for the Benefits Advisory Committee:
November 29, 2001:
8:00 - 9:00 Executive Subcommittee Meeting
9:00 -12:00 Dental Subcommittee Meeting
12:00 - 1:00 Full Committee Meeting
1:00 - 2:30 Retiree Subcommittee Meeting
2:30 - 4:00 Other Insurance Subcommittee Meeting
Chris Hulla from Buck Consultants will be available that day to work with the various Subcommittees as needed.
December 6, 2001:
8:30 – 10:00 Dental Subcommittee meeting
10:00 – 1:00 full Committee meeting.
December 20, 2001:
10:00 – 12:00 full Committee meeting IF NEEDED. This meeting is NOT definite,
and will depend on how much work the Committee accomplishes in the November 29 and December 6 meetings.
2). Maximum Lifetime Benefit: Three of the plans (HealthPartners, ChoicePlus and PreferredOne) do not have a maximum lifetime benefit. Definity has a 2 million dollar maximum lifetime benefit. The AAUP has expressed concern regarding this matter. It was agreed that the Benefits Advisory Committee, in conjunction with input from Chris Hulla from Buck Consultants, would address this issue, and then issue a resolution.
Multiple Outpatient Hospital Co-pays: The AAUP has also expressed a concern over multiple outpatient hospital co-pays. Employee Benefits representative, Steve Burrows, explained that there will be a $75 co-pay for outpatient surgery only. The office visit co-pay will apply to all outpatient tests or treatments conducted at a hospital or similar facility.
