Summer Bridge Program Criteria

 

 

Incoming first-year or new transfer student-athletes who have been offered an athletic scholarship at the University of Minnesota will be eligible to receive an athletics scholarship for the summer prior to their initial enrollment at the University of Minnesota based upon a review of the following criteria:

 

• ACT/SAT composite or sub-score of less than 20/870
• First generation college student as identified by the Admissions Office
• High school Class Rank
• High school GPA and/or core course GPA of less than 2.75
• Pell Grant eligible as identified by the Office of Student Finance
• Documented learning disability disclosed to ACSS
• High school factors including class size, academic reputation, level of programming
• Missing the preparatory math requirement

 

Based upon the above criteria an academic counselor can recommend that a student-athlete receive athletic aid for summer prior to initial enrollment at the University of Minnesota. This recommendation must be supported by the head coach and must be approved by both the director of MAC and the athletics director or designee.

 

An application will be developed to facilitate the documentation of these approvals.
