Award

She has been a dedicated leader in the University of Minnesota Alumni Association since 1992 when she was at-large representative on the national board of directors. She served as UMAA vice president in 1995­96; president-elect in 1996­97, and president in 1997­98. She was active on the University Issues Committee as member, chair, and cochair and the Committee on Regent Selection, which she cochaired in 1997­98.

A key advocate for the UMAA on University governance and legislative issues, she increased awareness of the importance of excellent University governance, enhanced the relationship between UMAA and the regents, and helped build legislative support for the largest allocation in the state's history. A selfless volunteer, she is committed to making the University an even better institution.

Upon the recommendation of the University of Minne-sota Alumni Association, the regents of the University of Minnesota, in recognition of devoted service, present this Alumni Service Award to Ann Huntrods on January 20, 2000.
