U of M students quizzed to improve their financial intelligence
October 11, 2007
October is Financial Literacy Month, and the University of Minnesota is using a unique technique to help its students navigate the world of money. The university’s Student Financial Collections office has created a set of online financial IQ quizzes, testing students on anything from financial aid to credit scores. After receiving their results, students can then access the information on the issues they scored poorly on and even get in touch with representatives from the U if they find themselves in trouble. “What we want to do is draw students into the world of proper money management and address any problems they may be having,” said Jennifer Klecker, Student Financial Collections. Completion of the quiz also enters students in a drawing where prizes such as $250 tuition certificates will be presented.
