Bob San has been working in University Relations since 1991. He began his career as hometown news professional for the News Service and later assumed the role of public relations representative, specializing in multicultural and ethnic press. San’s responsibilities include seeking and writing stories about staff and students for the ethnic/community press, distribute news about dean’s lists and scholarship winners to their hometown newspapers and assists colleges and departments in their efforts to distribute hometown news.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, San worked as a general assignment/sports reporter/photographer for the Lillie Suburban Newspapers covering cities and schools in Arden Hills, New Brighton, North Oaks and Shoreview. He later moved on to work as sports/news editor for the Sun Press newspaper group covering cities and schools in the northwestern suburbs of Brooklyn Park, Osseo and Maple Grove and Wright County cities of Rockford, St. Michael and Albertville. He was also a sports stringer for the Duluth News Tribune and now occasionally writes restaurant reviews for local Asian American publications.
San lives in Minneapolis.
