Elizabeth Giorgi started her career with the University News Service in September 2007 as assistant to the director. Giorgi heads the distribution of news, provides website and technology management, and compiles, “Today’s News Headlines.” Giorgi also provides administrative support and assists with media consulting.
Giorgi previously interned with the Minnesota House of Representatives in the 2007 legislative session for the Chair of the Higher Education committee, Tom Rukavina. She also worked for the Center for Transportation Studies in the publications department from 2006 – 2007, where she learned first-hand the quality of the research performed at the University.
Prior to making the transition to public relations, Giorgi worked as an international reporter for the Minnesota Daily. In her senior year, Giorgi studied abroad in London and Scotland, to gain a more thorough knowledge of international media.
Giorgi is a 2007 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She lives in Minneapolis.
