Kathryn Pearson is available nationwide for interviews regarding the new Congress.

The November elections brought sweeping changes to Capitol Hill. How this affects the president and his agenda to what Americans might come to expect are a couple of the items Pearson can address about the new Democratically controlled U.S. House and Senate.

Pearson specializes in American politics, national institutions, political parties, elections, and women and politics, with particular expertise in the U.S. Congress is University of Minnesota faculty member Kathryn Pearson. Pearson's current research focuses on party discipline in the House of Representatives.

One recent study, "The House Leadership in an Era of Partisan Warfare," appeared in the 8th edition of Congress Reconsidered. Another paper, "The Political Assimilation of the Fourth Wave" is forthcoming in the book Transforming Politics, Transforming America: The Political and Civic Incorporation of Immigrants in the United States.

Prior to joining the University's Department of Political Science, Pearson was a Research Fellow in Governance Studies at The Brookings Institution and a scholar at the American Political Science Association's Centennial Center.
