Marketing Communications

What is the role of the University of Minnesota? How does the work of our students, staff and faculty make a difference in the world?

Marketing communications answers these questions and shares the University’s compelling stories of research, teaching and outreach to those throughout the state, country and world. We develop strategies that will help others better understand the University’s mission to improve the human condition through the advancement of knowledge and how this translates into a premier education, strong state economy and enhanced quality of life.

Marketing Communications is comprised of professionals in marketing, electronic communications, and creative services (design, writing, editing, and photography.)

How do we do this?

We show the world how the U of M is Driven to Discover. We communicate our brand essence in creative and engaging ways through a variety of media channels.

We collaborate with campuses, colleges, and units to develop clear and compelling communications strategies and provide tools that help them integrate the U brand into their communications.

We take the pulse of our internal and external audiences with market research to make sure our messages are breaking through and resonating.
