Volunteer Office
One of UMRA’s most important contribution is to the University of Minnesota Retirees Volunteer
Center (URVC), located in the McNamara Alumni Center, Room 263, 200 Oak St S.E.
The Center matches retirees with volunteer activities at the
University and in the Twin Cities area. Among many ongoing projects,
retirees serve as tutors in various educational communities
as well as ushers at the Ted Mann Concert Hall and the Rarig
Theater Center. They may also participate as subjects in research projects
and work with mailings of informational/promotional materials.
During 2006-07 several hundred volunteers contributed almost 4,000 hours of their time. Volunteers are honored annually. See Photo Album for pictures from 2007 reception.
