of 3 days, cars compete on a 2 mile track. The Formula Sun event
serves as the qualifying event for the American Solar
Challenge.

American Solar Challenge
Covering more than
2300 grueling miles, the American Solar Challenge is the longest
solar car race in the world. This race serves as the successor to
the Sunrayce series of events and is held every two years. The 2003
race route will take teams and their cars from Chicago, IL to
Claremont, CA via the legendary Route 66.

through several distinct climates. Tropical Darwin's desert outback
