Eat together

A photo of a dinner napkin with cutlery.

From M, spring 2003

Eating together as a family does make a difference. According to University of Minnesota research, children ages 11 to 18 who have meals with their family consume more fruits, vegetables, grains, and other nutritious foods than children who eat separately. Also, adolescents who eat at least seven family meals each week consume fewer snack foods than those who have fewer meals with their families.
