The winner of the Outstanding P&A Unit Award this year is the Department of Chemistry on the Twin Cities campus. Representatives of the department will receive the award at a U-wide event April 28.

The award is made to the unit most exemplary in its support of academic professional and administrative (P&A) staff. It also acknowledges the work of P&A staff within the unit who have made distinguished contributions to the mission of the University.

Other nominees this year were One Stop Student Services, the Minnesota Population Center, and the Labor Education Service.

Previous winners have been University Libraries, General College, and the School of Social Work.

The 2004 P&A Recognition Celebration will be Wednesday, April 28, 4-5:30, West Wing, Campus Club, Coffman Union, Minneapolis, East Bank. Appetizers and dessert will be served and music provided. No RSVP is required.

The annual celebration provides an opportunity for P&A employees across the University to meet each other and learn more about the Council of Academic Professionals & Administrators (CAPA) and what it does to inform and support P&A staff at the University. Each CAPA committee will be present. CAPA committee members are encouraged to attend, and all P&A staff are welcome.
