Bring a civil service perspective to U governance

It's not too late to serve on a University committee this year! The Civil Service Committee encourages civil service staff to apply for the following positions.

To learn more about each committee and the work they do, visit the University Senate Web site, http://www.umn.edu/usenate/committees.html. The application for committee service is on the CSC Web site, http://www.umn.edu/csc/csctfbap.htm.

Twin Cities Facilities and Support Services Committee

1 position--must be Twin Cities campus staff

This subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Finance and Planning reviews the operations of support-service units on the Twin Cities campus and makes recommendations it deems appropriate to the Senate Committee on Finance and Planning.

Social Concerns Committee

2 positions available

This committee is concerned with the relationship between the University and the broader community. Work includes making recommendations to the Senate for the University's response to social or controversial problems.

Twin Cities Student Union Board of Governors

1 position

The Board of Governors helps to shape policy, determine the budget, and guide programs for one of the largest student unions in the country.

Civil service staff members support the 2004 Community Fund Drive

The University's Community Fund Drive will run October 1-31. Matt Bowers, University Libraries, is the civil service cochair of the drive. The drive's goal is to increase both participation and donations.
