Which CD should I install?
Most computers have a 32-bit processor. Windows XP Professional x64
Edition is designed to work with 64-bit processors from AMD and Intel
that support the x64 extensions to the x86 architecture. These include
the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Mobile Athlon 64, Turion 64, and Opteron
processors from AMD, and the Xeon with EM64T and Pentium 4 with EM64T

Running
Windows XP Media Center Edition?
Serial ATA
hard drive - If your computer has a serial ATA (SATA)
hard drive, you most likely will encounter problems when
performing the Windows XP Pro install. You will have to
manually install the drivers, which is a complicated process.
UCS consultants can reinstall the OS install for you for
an additional $75.
32-bit and
64-bit CDs in packet - There will be a is a x32 edition
CD and a x64 edition CD in your CD packet. Most computers
have a 32-bit processor. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
is designed to work with 64-bit processors from AMD and

My Windows XP Pro
upgrade product key is invalid...

What
version of Windows are they trying to upgrade from? If you have
Media Edition, XP Pro is not an upgrade.

You
must have a previous legal version of Windows installed on the
computer to use the upgrade CD.

You
can only install the Windows XP Pro operating system on one
computer. If your computer crashes and you need to install again,
you must contact Microsoft for another product key.

Here
is also some information from Microsoft regarding the "product
key is invalid" error. This issue can occur if one or more
of the following conditions are true:

You
did not enter the proper product key.

Anti-virus
software is running during Setup
- The installation compact
disc (CD) is damaged. You can go to the UCS location to obtain
another CD to use with your product key.
- You are installing
Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 to a second partition
on your hard disk.
- You started the Windows
XP service pack update Setup program from within Windows XP.
