If your U Card is lost, stolen or damaged, there is a $15 replacement fee that can be paid by cash, check or billed to your student account. The U Card Office does not accept check cards or credit cards.

Replacement U Cards are issued at the main U Card Office, University Recreation Center and St. Paul Gym. Click for hours and locations.

Bring your driver’s license, state ID, military ID or passport and be prepared to have your picture taken. You must have a government issued photo ID to obtain a replacement U Card.

You will NOT be charged a replacement fee if...

The lamination is peeling (with no other sign ofmisuse)	Your U Card has reader damage
Your U Card will not hold encoding	*You have a name or status change (must have & turn-in previous U Card) Contact One Stop regarding the University's name change policy or visit the One Stop site for a copy of the Name Change Request form.
Your photo or text is fading (not because of rubbing)	In the case of a stolen U Card, a police report has been filed with the University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety or other police agency and a copy of the report or the report number is provided to a U Card Office staff member prior to the issuance of a replacement U Card.

You will be charged a replacement fee if...

Your U Card has been misused (ice scraper, chewed by pet)	Your U Card is bent
Your U Card is broken or split	A hole was punched or stickers are on your U Card
Your U Card is warped from heat (dashboard, clothes dryer)

*Please note: The current valid U Card must be surrendered to the U Card Office in the case of a name change, a status change or a transfer within the University system or you will be charged the replacement fee.

To ensure the security of your U Card, we allow each card-holder to have only one U Card in their possession at any time.

Gopher GOLD is not cash refundable when U Cards are lost, stolen, or damaged.
