The goal of this task force is to optimize the use of the University’s physical, financial, and technological resources. Strategic resource acquisition, management, and redeployment are essential if the University is to achieve its long-term goals and advance academic quality. This task force will focus on opportunities to align and optimize administrative systems and areas that manage University resources to better serve the academic units they support.
This task force is responsible for providing direction and resources to a portfolio of administrative project implementation efforts. A detailed implementation plan, including a sequenced list of projects, is due to the Administrative Service and Productivity Steering Committee by January 1, 2006. Projects that are expected to be part of this task force's portfolio include: Enterprise Financial System Replacement Project; updating key business processes (per diem, travel, etc.); internal budget model; six year capital budget financial plan; Administrative Unit Balances and Central Reserves Fund: purpose and uses; optimizing university assets: investment strategies and best practices; RFP process/purchasing and post contract management.
