Statistical Software Helpline

Windows Vista

As of August 9, 2007:

From spss.com:
SPSS has released a patch to allow SPSS Base version 15 to be compatible with Vista. To download the patch from spss.com, create an account on the SPSS tech support site and login using your account. Then follow the instructions on the patch download page.

From sas.com:
"Starting in July 2007, Microsoft Windows Vista is supported with SAS 9.1.3 SP4 for an identified set of products."

From jmp.com:
"JMP Version 7 has been tested and certified to run on Microsoft's newestoperating system named Vista. No previous version of JMP has been certified to run on Vista. SAS cannot guarantee that previous versions of JMP will run properly or install on Vista machines."

Statistical Software Licenses

Stat Software available for license through ADCS includes:
 JMP
 SAS
 SPSS
Once you license JMP, SAS, or SPSS you can obtain the software on CDs, or download via the web from one of our servers. For more information, contact software@umn.edu.

Short Courses


Many short courses are offered by ADCS through our University Technology Training Center, including hands-on and seminar courses for SAS and SPSS. Introductory courses provide in-class hands-on training in the basics for new users, and are typically offered every quarter. Programming techniques courses provide additional instruction in specific package features.
