The Huron Boulevard Complex will remain open during this period.
Project A
Construction of a new SE 6th Street between Oak Street and 23rd Avenue SE. The road has been reconstructed to travel through the Buckeye parking lot and intersect with 23rd Avenue SE at a point further north from its old configuration. A few final improvements will be made in Spring, 2007.
Project B
Reconstruction of 23rd Avenue SE between University Avenue and new SE 6th Street. The reconstructed roadway has been paved. Final improvements will be made in Spring, 2007.
Project C
A road has been constructed along the north side of Fay Thompson Center for Environmental Management building between 23rd Avenue SE and 25th Avenue SE.
Project D
The Wildcat Lot has been expanded on the west side to border the reconfigured 23rd Avenue SE and along the south to border SE 4th Street. The NE section will remain open throughout the duration of the project for contract holders.
Project E
Lot C77 (Gopher 3) has been reconstructed Some contract holders have been relocated to the Wildcat Lot.
Project F
A new surface lot has been built adjacent to the Oak Street Ramp, south of SE Essex Street between SE Ontario Street and SE Erie Street. The facility is a contract lot with 264 spaces and will also be used for event parking. (Not on map)
Environmental remediation will also take place during this time period (December, 2006 - Spring, 2007). Principally, this will involve soil remediation on the former Republic Creosote site, on what are now portions of the Badger and Buckeye parking lots (Gopher 1 and 2), and flanking 5th Street west of 23rd Avenue SE.
