TCF Bank Stadium™ Construction
Work on the surrounding infrastructure, including adjacent roads and parking areas, began in fall 2006 and will be completed in fall 2007.
Construction of the stadium structure itself began in July 2007. The site was cleared, asphalt removed, and approximately 50, 000 cubic yards of soil removed. Pilings have been installed, and the foundation will be poured by the end of Dec. 2007.
Construction of the steel portion of the structure began in January 2008 and will be completed in late August 2008. Construction of the brick and cast stone portion of the building will begin in fall 2008 with completion scheduled for February 2009. The playing field will be installed in spring 2009. Final commissioning of the building will occur in summer 2009. The stadium will open for the first football game of the 2009 season on September 12, 2009.

Erection of the steel Stadium structure is nearing completion and masonry work on the exterior of the building is well underway. Construction of the stadium seating bowl has also begun. When completed, the bowl will consist of 95,000 lineal feet of pre-cast concrete. The building is now visible from the Dinkytown and Stadium Village areas of campus. 97% of the nearly 9,000 tons of steel used in the structure will be from recycled steel.
