To the north of Ford's plant lies Ford Parkway and various small shopping centers. To the east lies an elementary school, a park and a high-rise for senior citizens. On the west side, on a cliff overlooking the Mississippi River, is a bike and jogging trail enjoyed by residents living throughout St. Paul. Residential neighborhood now surrounds the plant, which was once located on the outskirts of town.
