While in Netscape mail, in the menu bar, point to Edit and then click Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...
In the left-hand category list, click Server Settings.
On the right-hand side, look at the line Server Type. Note whether it is set to POP Mail Server or IMAP Mail Server
