NewPeopleSoft Performance Update, 2/1/00.

NewStudents now able to add classes via Web after first week of term.

NewWeb Registration system shows marked improvement in volume, response time. A major fix to the Web Registration system means the system is processing twice the number of transactions in about half the time. The next step is increasing the number of concurrent users--the number of students who can access and use the system at the same time.

NewProcedure Update from OTR. Deals with degree posting on non-converted records, historical record changes, conversion of historical records, transfer credit/cumulative statistics problems.

NewPoor performance of the Peoplesoft and Web Registration systems is a source of frustration to students and staff alike and Enterprise staff have made better performance a top priority.

The ESP Communication Survey results indicated that respondents were generally satisfied with the information they received about the project and wanted more information, especially about PeopleSoft "nuts and bolts". Respondents also said the new system made their jobs harder, mainly because of the system's poor performance. The ESP Communication Team's initial recommendations are in this summary, but the Team will spend more time with the findings and develop communications strategies and vehicles that address the needs of the respondents.
