METRO Blue Line (formerly Hiawatha Light Rail)

Runs from downtown Minneapolis to the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America.

Light-rail fares are the same as Metro Transit bus fares (drivers do not carry change).

$2.75 during rush hours (M-F, 6-9 am and 3:00-6:30 pm, except holidays)
$1.75 all other times

Trains do not have fare boxes. Riders must pay before boarding. U-Pass and Metropass holders must touch their pass to the Go-To reader adjacent to the ticket machine at the rail station. Be prepared to show your pass and (student) ID to the fare inspector if asked. Non-paying riders are fined $180.

U-Pass, Metropass and activated Metro Transit 31-Day Passes may all be used on light rail. Metro Transit Stored Value Cards cannot be used.

Transfers are valid between bus and rail if used within 2½ hours. Express or rush hour charges may be applicable and must be paid in cash.

6 - 9 am and 3:00 - 6:30 pm	every 7 ½ minutes
9 am to 3 pm	every 10 minutes
6:30 pm to 9:00 pm	every 15 minutes
9 pm - 1 am and 4 - 6 am	every 30 minutes

University Connections

Downtown East/Metrodome Station – Connects to East or West Bank via Washington Avenue on Metro Transit bus #3, #16, or #50. During peak travel times, buses leave the Metrodome stop every 3 minutes. Transfer to the campus connector for St. Paul campus.
Cedar/Riverside Station – Connects to West Bank by foot in about 12 minutes. Or take Metro Transit bus #22 along Cedar Avenue.
