Disability Parking

The University provides designated disability parking spaces throughout campus. A state-issued disability permit or license plate is required.

Public Parking Facilities

Signed disability parking spaces can be found in all public/visitor parking facilities at the posted rate on a first-come, first-served basis.

University meters and signed on-street locations are free up to three hours if a state permit or license plate is properly displayed.

After three hours, meter patrons must either relocate their vehicle or pay the posted meter rate.

Designated three-hour disability spaces are enforced throughout the Twin Cities campus. The three-hour time limit is waived after 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Contract Parking Facilities
Disability parking spaces within contract facilities are available to individuals with a state disability permit or license plate, and a contract for that facility at the current contract rate. Priority is granted to persons with disabilities for the duration of their state issued permit.

How to Get a Disability Permit

To apply for a disability permit, call the State of Minnesota at 651-296-6911 or University Disability Services at 612-626-1333.
