Where do I find city transit info?
  • Online, the most comprehensive site is Metro Transit.
  • On campus, schedule racks are located:

    • West Bank Skyway Store
    • PTS main office, 511 Washington Avenue SE, 3rd floor

More than 35 routes come directly to the U. Check routes and times with your local provider.
(Time-saver Tip: Metro Transit lists every metro area route. From the home page, use “Select a Route” or “Quick Trip Planner”)

How much is it to ride the city bus or light rail?

Metro Transit bus and light rail fares are:
  • $2.25 during rush hours (M-F, 6-9 am and 3:00-6:30 pm, except holidays)
  • $1.75 all other times
  • Express fares: $3.00 rush hours and $2.25 at other times
(Exact fare is necessary; drivers do not carry change)

How do I get to the light rail station from campus?
  • Downtown East/Metrodome Station – Take westbound Metro Transit bus #3, #16, or #50 along Washington Avenue from East or West Bank. For the eastbound return, the same routes leave the Metrodome stop every 3 minutes during peak travel times. Transfer to the campus connector for St. Paul campus.
  • Cedar/Riverside Station – Walk from West Bank in about 12 minutes. Or take Metro Transit bus #22 southbound on Cedar Avenue.
