This year marks the sixth year of the renewable U-Pass card (managed in collaboration between PTS and Metro Transit). With that anniversary, students who renew passes from early years may find that their cards will be replaced (at no additional fee). This technology renewal ensures continued uninterrupted transit service for our students. Thank you for your attention.

Payment

Cost is $97 per semester
Charges are automatically posted to your student account. (U-Pass charges are not eligible for the Installment Payment Plan. Payment must be made in full by the due date.) Student account information

Eligibility – Students must:

Be registered for a current semester credit-bearing course on the Twin Cities campus.
Have paid the transportation fee.
Possess a valid U Card with a valid student ID number.

It is NOT possible to get a U-Pass if you don't have a U Card.

Have an active U of M Internet account with ID and password.

Summer Semester 2013: May 19 - August 25, 2013
Fall Semester 2013: August 26, 2013 - January 20, 2014 (on sale July 30)
Spring Semester 2014: January 21 - May 17, 2014

Pick-up – For fastest turnaround, pick up your pass at one of the distribution centers below. Passes can also be mailed before the stated cut-off date in the on-sale email.

Summer U-Pass

To qualify, students must:

Possess a valid U Card with a valid student ID number.
Have an active U of M Internet account with ID and password.
U of M Internet account information
Work less than 30 hours if employed at a University staff/faculty position.
(See the exceptions.)
Have paid the transportation fee.
Register for a summer semester credit-bearing course OR
Have been registered for the previous spring semester credit-bearing course

Damaged, Lost or Stolen Passes

Fill out the online form to obtain a replacement card. Replacements can be picked up at either Coffman Memorial Union or St. Paul Student Center within a few hours. Customers requesting a replacement for a lost or stolen pass will be assessed a $7 fee. Damaged passes will be exchanged for a new one. HELPFUL TIP: order your pass in advance! Our system needs three days to re-activate passes. If you use your pass early, the three day waiting period starts over. Plan ahead and order your U-Pass before you need to use it!
