Campus Rules

  • Never ride on campus sidewalks (unless designated as a bike lane with pavement markings).
  • Don’t lock bikes to handrails, trees, fences, bus shelters or anything other than bike racks. Illegally parked bikes will be tagged and removed. To reclaim your bike, contact the PTS office.
  • Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
  • Obey all traffic signs and signals.
  • Always ride on the right with traffic.
  • Most campus bike lanes are one-way only. Bikers must ride in the direction of traffic.
  • Watch for designated areas to dismount and walk your bike.
  • Headlights and reflectors are required by Minnesota law for night riding.

Winter Biking Tips

Guaranteed Ride Home
Bikers who ride to work/school 3 or more days per week are eligible for Metro Transit’s Guaranteed Ride Home Program. Registrants receive 2 coupons every 6 months (upon renewal), good for a free transit ride or a cab fare of up to $25. Coupons may be used whenever you feel you have an emergency situation.
