R. Timothy Mulcahy
Before being appointed vice president for research in Feb. 2005, R. Timothy Mulcahy served as associate vice chancellor for research policy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2002 to 2005. From 1996 to 2002 he served as associate dean for biological sciences at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mulcahy earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Rochester in 1973 and his doctorate in pathology and radiological sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1979. In 1981 he joined the faculty of the experimental therapeutics program at the University of Rochester Cancer Center. In 1985 he was recruited to the University of Wisconsin, where he achieved the rank of full professor in 1991.

Lendley (Lynn) C. Black
Dr. Lendley C. (Lynn) Black began his tenure as chancellor of the University of Minnesota, Duluth, on August 1, 2010. He came to UMD from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, where he served as vice president for academic affairs from 2002 until he was promoted in 2006 to provost and vice president for academic affairs. He has a long record of senior administrative experience, including nine years as dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, three years as director of undergraduate studies, and more than three years as director of student advising, at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. He earned his Ph.D. in theater at the University of Kansas.

Steven L. Crouch
Steven L. Crouch was named dean of the College of Science and Engineering in January 2005. He received bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mineral engineering from the University of Minnesota (in 1966, 1967, and 1970, respectively). In 1970 he joined the University of Minnesota faculty as an assistant professor in what is now the Department of Civil Engineering. From 1987 to 1997 he served as head of that department and in 1997 became the college's associate dean for finance and planning. Crouch holds the Theodore W. Bennett Chair in Mining Engineering and Rock Mechanics.

Connie W. Delaney
Professor Connie White Delaney is dean of the School of Nursing, as well as director of Biomedical Health Informatics, associate director the biomedical informatics program of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, at the University of Minnesota. Before coming to Minnesota, Professor Delaney was associate professor and professor, 1993-2005, at the University of Iowa. She earned a B.S.N. from Viterbo College, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. She did postdoctoral work at the University of Utah.

Coty N. Jen
Coty Jen is a first year graduate student in the Mechanical Engineering Department. She completed her B.S. in 2010 at Columbia University with a major in chemical engineering. Coty is a NSF GRFP fellow and an ARCS scholar. Her primary research is focused on understanding the mechanisms behind atmospheric aerosol nucleation and their implications for climate modeling.

Regina G. Kunzel
Professor Regina Kunzel is Chair of the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, and is also affiliated with the departments of History and American Studies. Her research specialties are in modern U.S. history and the history of sexuality and gender. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Professor Kunzel taught for 17 years at Williams College. She earned a Ph.D. in history at Yale University and a B.A. in history at Stanford University.

Wendy Pradt Lougee
Wendy Pradt Lougee is University Librarian and McKnight Presidential Professor at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Prior to her appointment at the University of Minnesota in 2002, Lougee held several positions at the University of Michigan over a 20-year period, including director of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library and associate director of the University Library system. Lougee has held leadership roles in a number of national and international scholar and professional organizations, currently on the Council on Library and Information Resources Board, the Association of Research Libraries Board of Directors, Ithaka Research Advisory Committee, and Early English Books Online Text Creation Partnership Board. Lougee holds a B.A. in English (Lawrence University), an M.S. in library science (University of Wisconsin), and an M.A. in Psychology (University of Minnesota).

Judith A. Martin
Judith A. Martin teaches, does research, and publishes in traditional urban geography (e.g., Twin Cities governance), landscape and culture (e.g., historical preservation, urban design), and comparative urban issues. She was president of the Minneapois City Planning Commission for 8 years and a member for 15 years. Martin often uses the Twin Cities as a base for her work. She is currently editor of Metropolican Portraits Book Series (University of Pennsylvania Press).

James A. Parente, Jr.
James A. Parente is dean of the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) at the University of Minnesota. He is a professor and former chair of the Department of German, Scandinavian, and Dutch and was formerly CLA’s associate dean for faculty and research. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Dr. Parente served on the faculties of Princeton University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University in Germanic languages and literatures, and specializes in the literature and culture of the Middle Ages and Early Modern period (1450-1750) in central and northern Europe.

G. David Tilman
G. David Tilman is Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Chair in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota. He is also a resident fellow at the Institute on the Environment and director of Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserver. His research investigates the causes of broad patterns in the biological diversity, structure, and dynamics of ecosystems; the benefits that society receives from natural and managed ecosystems; and ways to assure environmental and social sustainability in the face of global increases in human consumption and population.

Selwyn M. Vickers
Selwyn M. Vickers is a national leader in pancreatic cancer research. Dr. Vickers joined the University of Minnesota in July 2006 as the Jay Phillips Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Before moving to Minnesota, Dr. Vickers was a member of the faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since 1994, advancing to professor in its department of surgery and chief of its gastrointestinal surgery section. He received the John H. Blue Chair in Surgery and was a senior scientist in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center. At Johns Hopkins University, he earned his B.A. in 1982 and his M.D. in 1986.

Eric M. White
Eric White is an undergraduate student at the Carlson School of Management. He is a member of the University Honors Program and will major in Finance and minor in Spanish Studies. Eric is involved as a Student Ambassador for the Carlson School, a representative on Undergraduate Advisory Board for the University of Minnesota, and a member of the Executive Board of Carlson’s Business Week. He is also a student employee at Student Unions and Activities.

Amelious N. Whyte, Jr.
Amelious Whyte has been the Chief of Staff in the Office for Student Affairs since November 2003. He began his work at the University in the Office for Student Affairs and has worked in various units, including the Aurora Center, Boynton Health Service, and the Office of the Board of Regents, before assuming his current position. He is originally from Brooklyn, New York and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from the University Southern California, a Master's Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota's, and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Higher Education also at the University of Minnesota.
