Reception at Coffman Memorial Union, Great Hall, 3 p.m. FREE
The academic procession begins at 12:45 p.m., followed by the installation
ceremony—investiture and presentation of the University mace
by Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, presentation of the University
medallion by Board of Regents Chair Maureen Reed, and inaugural address,
“Advancing Knowledge: A Partner for the Public Good,”
by President Robert Bruininks.

Event: Life Sciences Career and
Internship Fair
McNamara Alumni Center, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. FREE
The fair will feature representatives from more than 60 local and
national companies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies,
and graduate and professional schools related to life sciences—health,
medical, molecular, cellular, health, animal, plant, and environmental
sciences. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet with several
College of Biological Sciences alumni who can help students by reviewing
resumes, conducting mock interviews, and answering career-related
questions.
