The Peacock Bar
The Peacock Bar is decidedly an Art Deco expression with its stylized peacock plume lighting fixtures and its use of modernist materials: mirror, chrome and straight-cut stone. The mirrors are eglomise or "reverse-painted" and leafed in gold and silver. Both the mirrored walls and the door display a painted peacock eye design by local "genius of modern art" Frank Post. The counter front, top, and integral sink are made of black onyx. |
