Robert Bruininks.Bush Leadership Initiative

The President of the University of Minnesota can and must play a catalytic role in assuring this region, the nation and even the world has the leadership that it needs. To that end, I am committed to creating a powerful new strategy for developing and supporting tens of thousands of leaders in the public, nonprofit and private sectors who can and will mobilize communities to solve the toughest problems of the 21st Century. To develop this strategy I have formed a partnership with the Minnesota-based Bush Foundation, which has identified the development of courageous leaders as one of its three goals for the decade ahead. I’ve also asked Provost Tom Sullivan to work with me on the design.

The University and the Foundation have engaged Public Strategies Group (PSG) to conduct a Design Lab to aid in the development of the strategy. The different elements of the process are described on this site. This site is designed to offer an 'up to the moment' briefing on the state of the Design process. Feel free to look at the documents posted here and share your thoughts with us.
