That means doing an even better job of educating our students, conducting breakthrough research and using our knowledge and discoveries to improve lives and livelihoods for the people of Minnesota and around the world.

21st Century Interdisciplinary Conference Series
To take advantage of the University’s remarkable breadth, the president created a series of interdisciplinary conferences and eight interdisciplinary initiatives.
Other presidential priorities included deepening recent improvements in student life and learning; helping to keep the University affordable through private fundraising for student scholarships; and improving the business practices and processes through a University-wide service and productivity initiative.
The President’s Interdisciplinary Conference series was designed to nurture academic work across the disciplines, and to find new connections between the University and the broader community.
