Symposium on Small Towns: Shaping Our Future
Date: June 7 - 8, 2005 (Also June 2004)
There are 853 cities in Minnesota, of which 727 (85 percent) are small towns with under 5,000 people. Today these towns are facing tremendous challenges, including changing economies, population migration, and shrinking budgets. This third annual symposium convenes state residents to envision ways—via sessions on energy, infrastructure, people, and policy—in which rural communities can shape their future.
