The Power of Water: Consumptive Water Use to Feed Humanity: Curing a Blind Spot

Date: October 11, 2004
Location: Bell Museum Auditorium

Where will the water come from to feed tomorrow’s humanity? Many rivers are already almost empty, particularly in Asia where there is still rapid population growth and large undernourishment. Global water expert and author Professor Malin Falkenmark calls for a shift in thinking to cope with the problems of feeding the world while saving healthy ecosystems.

Sponsor: Water Resources Center, the Consortium for Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences, the Bell Museum, the Graduate School and Part of the President's 21st Century Interdisciplinary Conference Series
