Be prepared: A Safe U is a Safe You

The University of Minnesota is committed to the safety and security of its students, faculty, and staff. The safety of our campus community during an emergency requires planning and awareness about how emergency plans will be implemented.

The purpose of this Web site is not emergency notification. This is an education and information site to help you understand how the University prepares for and responds to safety, health, and weather emergencies. It also provides important information about personal safety and how to respond to many different types of emergencies.

In the event of an emergency on campus, the University uses multiple methods of emergency notification to inform the campus community and general public about the nature of the emergency, how to respond, class or event cancellations, and of campus closure.

Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with this site and bookmark it for future reference. Check back for updates and timely information.

In the event of any campus emergency, dial 911.
