Rape Aggression Defense Program

Thanks to a grant from TCF Banks, UMPD now offers instruction in Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) through the University Recreation Center. The RAD Program is a comprehensive course for women and begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.

The RAD Program:

  • is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques;
  • utilizes easy, effective and proven tactics against various types of assault;
  • provides you with the knowledge to make educated decisions about resistance;
  • teaches women to take an active role in their own self defense and psychological well being.

For more information on this program visit the Department of Recreational Sports.
