Reporting Suspicious Behavior

If you observe people or activities that are out of the ordinary, or seem suspicious to you, you are encouraged to contact the Police Department for assistance.

Call our dispatcher by dialing 9-1-1 for emergencies or crimes in progress, or simply dial 624-COPS for all other calls.

Be prepared to tell the dispatcher the nature of the suspicious activity, a description of the suspect(s), and your location so that officers can be sent to investigate your uncertainty.

The UMPD understands that the observations of people who live and work in consistent areas are credible with regards to what is "out of the ordinary."
