Safety in Your Car

ALWAYS park in well lit, visible areas.

AVOID parking next to large trucks or vans.

USE CAUTION when using enclosed parking garages.

DO NOT walk into any parking area if you feel uncomfortable.

ALWAYS have your keys in your hand prior to getting to your car.

ALWAYS lock your car and take the keys with you, even if you will only be gone a short period of time.

ALWAYS scan the path you walk to and from you car. Be aware of who is around the area.

ALWAYS lock your doors while driving.

ALWAYS allow proper space between you and the car in front of you when stopped in traffic.

ALWAYS keep your car in good running condition, and keep the tank at least a quarter full.

ALWAYS stay in your car if it breaks down while on the road. Raise the hood and place emergency reflectors or flares if possible. When someone stops to help, ask him or her through a closed or cracked window to telephone the police for help. Do not get out.
