Guatemala With Common Hope

Vision Teams travel to Guatemala for one week of volunteer service. While there, you will have the opportunity to build a house, visit families in their homes, work in schools, and meet families who are positively impacted by volunteers like you. By joining a Vision Team, you will work side by side with your family and other U of M students and families to make a difference in the lives of others.

Date: May 13-20, 2012
Cost: $1100* + airfare
Applications: Applications and a $400 deposit are due to Chelsea in the Parent Program Office by December 31, 2011

La Push With Global Citizens Network

La Push is a fishing village on the Pacific Coast of the Olympic Peninsula. The Quileute people are faced with difficulties maintaining their culture and surviving economically. Groups traveling to La Push will partner with the Quileute tribe to work in their community. Projects focus on maintaining the culture, language, and way of life of the tribe and can include building a home, painting, cooking, clearing trails, or recording elder's stories.

Date: March 10-17, 2012
Cost: $1200* + airfare
Applications: Applications and a $300 deposit are due to Chelsea in the Parent Program Office by November 1, 2011
