Marketscore

A number of Microsoft Windows computers on the University network have had all their web browsing redirected through the servers of a company called Marketscore. This is called "proxying". This proxy software is sometimes installed in conjunction with other software donwloaded from the internet such as network acceleration software.

Marketscore proxy software is of high concern because it installs a certificate in the web browser that allows outside access to encrypted data such as passwords and other secure transactions--a breach of University security. To protect University systems from unauthorized release of private data and other security risks, connections to Marketscore from the University are being blocked.  This includes all campuses, dial-up users, and vpn connections.

Computers that have this software installed may not be able to use their web browser until the software and the certificate are removed. Consult the following link (or others below) for removal instructions:
