Students get legal Microsoft products for as little as $67 to 73

Current University of Minnesota students can purchase Microsoft software legally for only $67 to $73. Feel free to pass this information on to U of M students. The Technology Helpline tells us that students are purchasing this software elsewhere because they're unaware of the University's special agreement and low prices.

Microsoft Academic Student Select Program

University Computer Services (UCS) is part of the University of Minnesota. UCS teamed up with Microsoft to offer reduced software prices on common Microsoft software (ranging from $67 to $73). This program is called the Microsoft Academic Student Select Program and is available for current U of M students only.

Microsoft software products include:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Pro Operating System Upgrade
  • Microsoft Office v. X
  • Microsoft Office 2001
  • Microsoft Office XP Pro
(Microsoft Office 2003 is scheduled to be available November, 2003)

To determine student's eligibility to participate in their program, all student software orders must be placed through an online order form at the UCS website: http://www.umn.edu/ucs/
