Ask Mayo Clinic registered nurses are on duty around-the-clock, 365 days a year, to help you handle an illness or injury. This telephone service is available to you and your family members at no charge as one of the wellness benefits available through the UPlan Medical Program.
You will find the toll-free nurse line number on the back of your Medica, HealthPartners, or RxAmerica wallet card.
After speaking with an experienced registered nurse about an illness or new diagnosis, you may want to request a packet of information tailored to your specific questions and needs. A packet of information gathered from Mayo Clinic’s extensive medical and patient education library will be mailed to you.
Ask Mayo Clinic nurses may also refer you to online resources at www.mayoclinic.com.
If you are a newly-hired employee and receive your health care coverage through the UPlan Medical Program, you can receive a copy of Mayo Clinic Guide to Self-Care upon request. Send your request and address information to the Wellness Program. This guide was selected for University faculty and staff based recommendations from members of the Benefits Advisory Council (BAC) and from other staff members representing various employee groups at the University.
