University Fitness Classes

Taking a fitness class at the University is a great way to try something new and build strength. If you successfully complete the course requirements, you will not only be reimbursed the $199 course fee, you'll also earn 50 wellness points. University Fitness Classes are offered on the Twin Cities, Duluth, and Morris campuses.

Twin Cities Campus

Group Strength Express

Group Strength Express is a strength class offered through the University Recreation & Wellness Center. The class is designed to increase muscle strength, enhance cardiovascular fitness, and teach you the basics of a balanced exercise program. Heart Rate Express

Heart Rate Express is a class to improve cardiovascular health offered through the University Recreation & Wellness Center. The class takes place mostly on a treadmill or a stationary bike and is meant for all skill levels.You can register for the course and find more information on RecWell's site.

Kettlebells

Kettlebells is a class designed to help you improve muscle strength through exercises such as squats and swings offered through the University Recreation & Wellness Center. Since this is an intermediate-level fitness class, participants should already have a good exercise foundation. You can register for the course and find more information on RecWell's site.

Yoga 101

Yoga 101 is a class designed for those beginning a yoga practice. The class is offered through University Recreation & Wellness Center. Yoga instructors will help you become familiar with the benefits of yoga and the poses while you practice in a small group setting. Dynamax

Dynamax is a class designed to help you increase core strength and stability offered through University Recreation & Wellness Center. Class will involve catching and receiving a weighted medicine ball while going through various full-body movements. You can register for the course and find more information on RecWell's site.

Duluth Campus

Group Strength Express

Group Strength Express is a strength class offered through the Sports and Health Center on the Duluth Campus. The class is designed to increase muscle strength, enhance cardiovascular fitness, and teach you the basics of a balanced exercise program.

Morris Campus

Yoga 101

Yoga 101 is a class designed for those beginning a yoga practice. Yoga instructors will help you become familiar with the benefits of yoga and the poses while you practice in a small group setting.


Costs and Reimbursements

All University Fitness Classes have a course fee of $199, but that cost can be fully reimbursed to you if you are a UPlan member and complete the course requirements.

UPlan members taking a class for the first time do not need to have a membership to the Recreation & Wellness Center or St. Paul Gym in order to participate, but ID is still required. If you are not eligible for a course reimbursement, you still can participate in a class, but you must purchase a facility membership.
